PROTOTYPE

AMFI 1ST SEMESTER PROJECT

This project is about creating 3D shapes and experimenting with both shape and volume and while also keeping sustainability in mind.  The techniques used to accomplish this are gathering and pleating. Of each of these techniques, eight drapes had to be made in two different fabrics on a half-scale mannequin.

After finishing the sixteen designs a fashion segment had to be chosen: workwear, streetwear or sportswear. I choose sportswear, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. I examined the garments stitchings, finishing, and hems and incorporated these into the final full-scale design which was made out of a combination of three designs.
