MANAGEMENT INTAKE

For my management intake, I wanted to highlight my versatility of creative technical and cognitive skills. For this project, I took on the role of both the designer and developer to create a functional jacket made out of origami.

While I was in the design department I created designs using origami techniques while keeping sustainability in mind. While doing research I came across the work of Jule Waibel (origami dresses for Bershka) and Ryan Mario Yasin (multi-sized expanding children's wear). The origami technique used in Waibel's work has the amazing property to easily increase and decrease in size and shape around the body. Whereas Yasin's work is more practical in its use and wear.

PROTOTYPE #1

Below the process of making the first prototype is shown. It includes the patterns, work sequence and an estimated cost price. After the first prototype was finished it was time to review it and make alterations to the patterns.

DESIGN, PATTERNS, CONSTRUCTION, REVIEW & ALTERATIONS

After making the needed alterations, most of the errors are taken out and it was time to make the second prototype. For this prototype, I have made a more complete tech pack.
