NATURE x ALTER EGO
In less than 3 weeks my fellow 30 group members and I had to; create a brand for the year 2030, make a 3 piece collection, have a fashion shoot: photo and video. And to wrap it all up a fashion show and performance.
And our inspiration for all this was: ALTER EGO & NATURE.
We were encouraged to change disciplines. So instead of being a manager, I went back to my designer roots. I acted as head of design, textile designer and in general had a big hand in designing the final looks.

DESIGNS & TEXTILES
Ecdysis explores how design can learn from and protect our natural environment. By using the craft of biomimicry and innovative textile technology through organic designs, Ecdysis integrates into a 2030 relevant fashion label. Products are designed to communicate an honest duration expectation that will eventually give back to earth what has been taken. Leaving no waste behind. Ecdysis purposely degrades with time.
Within our concept renewing is applicable on two levels. On the level of ‘Alter Ego’ where we believe that, just like a snake, one's identity is shedable and renewable. Our concept allows growth and freedom to explore all different facets of one's personality. On design level, we believe in the concept of biomimicry. Through innovative designs, we challenge current durability expectations and introduce an end of lifecycle to respectfully engage with those found in nature. All of the pieces in our collection contain bioplastic; fully compostable. The bioplastic which we have made ourselves is enriched with plant seeds; made to be giving back to earth.
Which gives us the vision to reconstruct the expected durability timespan and the mission to harmoniously integrate with nature by using biomimicry.
